According to published statistics, global steel production reached 1,878 million tons in 2022, barely exceeding the production of 1,875 million tons before the pandemic in 2019.

Steel production in 2022 showed a significant decline compared to the 1,960 million ton increase after the #Corona pandemic in 2021, with an annual decline of 4.2%, the largest decline since 2009 and before that, 1991.

According to the report published on the analytical statistical site Visual Capitalist, this decrease was spread in many of the world’s top steel producers, and only three of the top fifteen countries, namely “#India, #Iran and #Indonesia” increased their annual production. In this way and based on this report, Iran is currently in the tenth position of steel production in the world.
