Rebars are classified as having different uses. Rebar is actually a final steel product (either alloy or non-alloy) that is produced through rolling operations on semi-finished products such as billets. After producing this product in the form of rebar, it is wrapped in a coil and sold to the market.
Rebar is actually the same simple rebar that is twisted together and has more flexibility than its simple type, which is widely used in industry and construction.
The use of Rebars
Alloys, create different properties in steel. According to the alloy used in them, coils are used in different grades with their uses, some of which are as follows:
Application of coiled rebar in industry
- Barbed wire
- Nails and screws, rivets, nuts, and wires
- Electrode and welding industries
- Fence net and fence
- Spring industries
- Tow wire
Application of coiled rebar in construction
- Wire
- Fence net and fence
- Stirrup
- Wire reinforcement
- Truss and beams
Types of Rebar Coils
These products are produced in two ways, simple and ribbed, and are available in the market in sizes from 5.5 to 16 mm. Coils with a thickness of 5.5 to 8 mm are also known as wire.
- Low carbon wire rod: low carbon percentage, good flexibility, good weldability, high malleability, use in construction and industries under tension
- Wire rod with medium carbon: as a raw material for factories in making electric cables, producing springs, towing wires, tires, etc.
- High-carbon wire rod: flexibility and low malleability, making tires, tow wires, electric wires, springs, etc., also from wire for the production of welding wires and electrodes
